Quest - How old is the oldest Scooby driver?
#1
A question that occurred to me whilst stuck behind a (grey) Rover 75
what age do Scooby drivers retire from fun-driving and take to old man's car?
So,
How old is the oldest Scooby driver - anyone care to own up
And what car would you get when you need to be seen to be sensible and old

I'm sure I'm not the oldest but suffice it to say I could have insured my car with Saga for a few years.

55 should win me some championship points at least. MY97 turbo now, tempted to change to an STI before too old to enjoy one, but deterred by potential parts/service problems as imports are not supported by local dealer.

We more mature types deserve the good things in life for our twilight years - fast Scoobies, women slow enough so we can still catch them and to still be thought of as boy racers.
One day we may all have to drive the wagon version as it has enough room in the back to accomodate a zimmer frame. In the meantime I'll spend the next six months waiting for my next Scoobie (STI) to appear.

Matty,
We sort of had this type of qeustion a few months back when I asked if I was too old for my Scoob, and I beleive that their is a guy and a lady in the 60's and 70's driving one somewhere, I'm only 43 but everytime I drive mine I feel like half that age cos I love it.
Cheers
Colin

There's a woman called June who drives a P1. She's a regular radio operator on stage rallies in South of England so does a few miles, inc some forestry stages (Prodrive sump guard fitted), driving into her allocated junction. This is her third scooby and has just turned 80 so the rest of you have a way to go yet.

So what's the next car when you're too old to drive a Scoob - A Daf variomatic
(Silent Monkey - you were right, it is a hearse )
Matthew
PS PeterUK300 - is that your age
and PSLewis (alias Victor Meldrew) -92 and still able to use a PC
