Sorry mate, Ive been out enjoying the Shogun.
My WRX was traded as a standard vehicle, ie all toys removed, and had 20500 on the clock yesterday morning when the swap took place. It was registered 1/3/2001 and I got, gulp, £14500 for it. I know the Mitsubishi dealer I bought fron have been offered a lot less than this and gave me £14500 to proceed with the deal.
I have bought a SWB Classic 3.2 DiD in silver and have to confess I think it is great. The engine is fantastic, pulls like a train, something to do with 275ft/lb of torque at around 2000 revs me thinks
It is so much more relaxed to drive and I genuinely am pleased. It is to be used for work, towing a Westfield/Caterham, boat and my next off roader project.
I have not had any glitzy extra's because that kind of stuff just does not appeal to me. I have been off roading since 1986 and much prefer a subtle approach to these things.
Only downside is the only vehicle that cannot have the Tiptronic gearbox is a SWB diesel but to tell the truth you only need to use 4th and 5th above 15mph if you want!!
Mitsubishi have also confirmed if a bird craps on my bonnet and the lacquer falls off leaving an unsightly mess, they will consider this as below standard paintwork. This was the final nail in the Scoobs coffin after previous situation's, one of which was with the dealer and one with IM on another matter.(Asking me to ask my insurance company to hire me a car for 3 weeks whilst they got a mirror from Japan!)
