prices 4 uk sti

just got the prices for uk sti --very disapointing
uk sti £30995
uk sti prodrive style £32395
Seems IM think the warranty fact(3years)60,000 miles is justified in the price
but still only 261bhp.
Waiting for PPP stats and prices

So £31k for a car that is no quicker than a MY00 PPP - at least in terms of acceleration - granted the brakes and handling should be better, but £8k better I think not.
They are far too near M3 territory, and more than an EVO 7.

Very valid point, definately wouldn't spend anywhere near £32K on a Subaru(ever). This sort of money brings thoughts of secondhand M3(in a year or two), EvoVII , 2nd hand Skylines, the list is too appealing to make another trip to a Subaru dealership in a year or so.

evo 7 it is for me then.[/quote]
Prices from a high level meeting @ IM
they are under the impression that warrenty is more important(after all they did sell 980
P1 @ £31500) rather than 990 STI 6 Type R in the UK

Less than 500 coming to the UK - not suprised at those prices They might be best ordering an initial batch of five and seeing if they can sell those first!
It will be very interesting to see what the same car costs via Holland / Belgium. I must drop Gertjan an email I'd guess at less than £25k all in?

The rumour was that IM had bought the full allocation of right hand drive European STI's.
Interested to see if any of the importers can guarantee them, and at what price. If the official UK STI is over 30k, then I would think that they will struggle, even with 500. The people that can afford them, will of been bitten by the P1 senario.

Looks like we have another IM p1 syndrome. I think most people were expecting around £27k for the STI, remember they sold 900 odd P1's, probably 500 at full price (orders placed before scooby residuals took a big hit) and 400 and odd at discounts, getting new or preregistered P1's for £27k. Yes having a warranty is useful, but remember IM garages will now have to service EU STI's, so one of their big selling points (ie dealers saying they can't service your STI6, so buy a P1 instead!)
Anyway a couple of things to bear in mind - EVO 7's are £26-27k with importer 3 year warranty etc, or £29995 for an offical UK car.
Also I believe the new M3's are £38,500 in UK and £33k for an EU import, ie about the same as a full spec UK Prodrive STI! Why bother with UK STI?
It's taken 7 versions to get an offical uk car and then IM set that price and for less power!
I won't buy a uk one!
