Afternoon
Try doing a search for Superchips - shed loads has been written on this subject.
IMHO
YES it will effect your warranty - It will be void if you happen to 'blow-up' or have any engine related problems. it is unlikely to affect other areas covered by warranty such as suspension, brakes (unless they can prove that the increase put more stress on ya suspension/brakes/g-box, etc.
I had a Supwerchips upgrade on a 2.0L Vectra and was very pleased with the results.
Try a search on here - a few people have had good/bad experiences going this route.

Aye - as Paul says do a search, you'll probably find loads. General consensus seems to be that they are not much good on a Scoob, fools your ecu to do naughty things
Save up a bit more and get a Unichip
