It's official - Guinness World Record for Driving Sideways
#1
Excellent news...
Guinness World Records have phoned me this morning to say that the record is now official and fully sanctioned.
We'll sort out the collection of the pledge money.
All the best

Congrats Si,
Is the record at 2Hr 11mins 18 secs?
I take it the mix up in the camera's was'nt an issue
Any news if it's going to be in the GBR? or just down as one of the ones they don't publish but still recognise?
When will it up on the website?

thanks guys
I don't know if it will be in the book..
but it should be on the website later today (or so they said).
It *is* 2 hours 11 mins and 18 seconds, which is a big relief as it was looking dodgy for a while.

I'm with JackClark on the GWR site being one of the worst sites for searching (or anything else for that matter) I've ever had the misfortune to experience. I'm sure that the site only scratches the surface in terms of total records held. For instance, I couldn't find *my* record for being the laziest man alive anywhere...
If anyone else (with more patience than me!) manages to find SdB's record, please post the URL here - I'm itching to see it on an official GWR media.

Well it has to be said, I'm quite new to this site, and I was wondering who the hell this SdB geezer was.
But, I have just watched last nights TG and all I can say is Respect! Anyone who can hold anything sideways for that long, let alone something as world renowned for its traction levels as a Scoob deserves worship.

Nice one Simon
Their search engine is absolute rubbish (IMHO), I've spent almost 2 hours, and just cannot find it. I can think of nothing else to search under
If anyone stumbles across it, let us know as it is really annoying me

Well mate, the time is nigh - you've been putting it off for long enough now. The time has come for you to present yourself to your legal representative and have your name changed by deed poll to 'Simon De Sideways'.
Has a certain "Je ne sais quoi" about it.
Cheers

Funny at work today everyone was on about this bloke on TG who spun an impreza for over 2 hours. I was asked if I knew the guy in question (as all impreza owners know each other ) and I just said nope never heard of him .
Well done m8
And I wonder if these guys are plotting another motorsport event .
Cheers

Simon do you realise you won't ever get caught by the police for speeding again? Simply travel to the nearest roundabout then slide round it continually for 2 hours until they spin off or run out of fuel!
Well done

SDB congratulations on getting your record recognised.
Could you let me know where to send a cheque, I wasn't around when it was all organised.
Also, the pleading bit, did anyone record TG? My video decided not to bother working, I will replace the tape.
