The cone I was using has a long 80mm neck, shaped trumpet and the cone itself is 150mm at the widest, about 170mm long.

I ran it by replacing the whole MAF (Link) at peak boost it was OK, over about 6,000rpm it was choking the airflow. Peak power fell by between 15-20bhp and you could feel the engine holding back. Replaced it with the original HKS Induction kit - it breaths well but does not filter so well. At the top end the car is much stronger again - running about 350-360bhp at 1.35bar held, 1.5bar peak.

PS The cone is about £55 from Demon, plus VAT

In collaboration with RRR preparation there is a possible group buy on offer if there are 15+

£70.00 inclusive of vat and P & P £10

CAN I JUST ADD (SEEING AS MODERATORS ARE BEING FUNNY ABOUT GROUP BUYS) THAT I HAVE APPROACHED DARREN FROM RRR TO GET THESE PRICES, NOT VICA VERSA AS 'SOME' SEEM TO BE MAKING OUT.

I make no comment about the suitability for Subaru's BUT

I fitted a Pipercross last year to my year 2000 Audi A4 Quattro (Turbo) and needed a new AMS (MAF) not very long afterwards at a cost of £200.

Might have been a total coincidence.

Question

Is it only for Scoobs or could I get one for a different car?

Can get these for Any Car, but offer, sorry, GROUP BUY ( )
is for Impreza only.
You can e-mail me though for prices for other applications!
We have fitted (Company. Not FFIC) around 200 Pipercross Cones and have found no problems with the AFM or Running.
I use these on our car also and not only do they benefit the performance the sound they make mated with an after market exhaust is awsome!

Exclamation

My Pipercross Induction kit has so far cost me £640 (in 12 months/10k mls) STI 5. It should have been more but I got the last maf free. 3 failed in total.

Just to balance it out, a friend has been through 5 mafs with his Blitz cone...

IMHO be very careful what you use on MY99-00.

Trout,

What was your inlet setup and boost at the time? Do you have any figures? I am about to use the Pipercross cone (without the maf running gems). Running high boost, I'd be very interested in your findings.

Thanks Trout.

Scooby555,

You usually find that if a filter flows more it will generally filter less. Unfortunatly.

Funny that?
We havent experainced ANY problems with any cone apart from the Blitz.
Pipercross we have found is to have one of the better filter-ration conparied to others. Very good for accelaration, but as some people say, it strangles a little at top end comparied to others. But, who does 140mph on the road every day?
Group buy for the pipercross is not just the filter, you get also the whole kit which includes Brackets, Gaskets and filter cleaning oil. Oh, and Instructions
