Does Anyone Else Love There Terzo ?!!!
Picked my Impreza Terzo up last week and I absolutely love it to bits !
I'm new to the Scooby scene but I do want a dump valve fitted (Call me a boy racer I'm not bothered !) to reduce the turbo lag a little bit.
So which one should I go for ? I've heard good things about the Blitz one but what are your opinions ?
Thanks in advance

Welcome 333
Happy to oblige....YOUR'E A BOY RACER
We did but had to wave goodbye just before her third birthday. Enjoyed every single second behind the wheel, went back to the dealer with perfect pain except for a couple of v minor chips on the bonnet.
More than can be said for the current blue covering which IM represent as paint.
Can't help on the valve front, enjoy the
miles and the smiles.

I love my Terzo. I can't remember the number because it's in the garage having a scratch removed and a couple of rust spots done under the body work corrosion guarentee (not the scratch, I have to pay for that).
Think it's 145.
It's got prodrive suspension (with modified dampers for slightly softer ride), 17" speedlines, prodrive exterior pack (so the STi lip spoiler and Group N rear, sideskirts and PIAA's), scoobysport exhaust, ITG filer, quickshift and £600's worth of carbon fibre STi strut brace.
Done £67K miles, trackdays and 3K round europe and 2K round Scotland without any breakdowns. Just the occasional overboost cut-out problem and spongey brakes on fire at Croft.
I'll love it even more on Saturday because then I can give back the Skoda Labia that's the loan car...
Cheers
Andy

Hi again,
I've just posted some pictures of my Terzo in the gallery (I started life as a Terzo!!)
Sorry, I'm not computer minded enough to know how to link these two posts.
External mods include:
Lowered front bumper.
Colour coded side and rear skirts.
High level rear spoiler.
18" GT1-Lite wheels with P-Zero 225/35 tyres.
Lowered suspension.
The only external changes I want to complete are to get the mirrors and the door handles colour coded and possibly change the fog lights to driving lamps.
Enjoy the piccies
Simon (Terzo 290).

Hi congrats on the purchase!
You already have a dumpvalve fitted (I think..) sti's do, it's just that they're inaudible until you remove the airbox arrangement by fitting a K&N or similar induction kit.
Then you'll definately hear the dumpvalve

Good luck!
Forgive my ignorance
What is a Terzo - How does it differ from a UK car? (saves me looking at the SIDC FAQ)
as far as dump valves go
IMHO
You should already have a dump valve fitted - as stated above changing to a Induction kit will geatly enhance the sound of it + some gains in performance/breathing. I fitted a PX ind kit to my MY99 - revs more freely & great sounds.

Hi Terzo 333,
Had my Terzo for two and a half years and been very happy with it,
:

:
:
: although I have "played" with it quite a lot.
I have a Bailey bump valve fitted, which in all honesty didn't make a lot of difference to the turbo lag or the overall performance. I personally like the noise it makes, but someone described it yesterday as a car which farts all the time. Some people have no idea!!

I would agree with Deep Singh. The best initial mod would be to change the downpipe, to a free flowing / de-catted one. There are several good ones around, which you could buy and have fitted for not much more than the cost of the dump valve. I was rather slow at changing mine and have only had it done about 3 weeks ago - I wish I'd done it sooner. I've got the new Magnex downpipe fitted, to match the rest of my exhaust. The difference in performance is absolutely amasing. The turbo kicks in much sooner and hits peak boost in a fraction of the time. All of which means it feels like it is about to take off as you accelerate. All for only £150 (+VAT and fitting). Fantastic value for money.
Word of warning though - if you change your downpipe get the boost pressure checked immediately afterwards. Mine shot up to 1.45 bar (very very high
:eek
, back to a much more respectable 1.1 bar now. Apparently, this can happen due to the reduction in the restriction caused by the new exhaust.
Enjoy your car.

Lo Terzo,
I'm a newbie (ish) 2 MY97P
I'm verytempted about a new valve but after reading this I may get a new downpipe.
Where would I Get one from? should I (gulp) as my local dealer?
Paul,
check out the scooby

All impreza turbo's have dump valves fitted to relieve trapped turbo pressure on gear changes / foot off etc. These re-circulate back to the air box. The one you are after is a dump to atmosphere which is noisy. I had a Forge valve fitted but recently removed it as it gave no performance benefit. Sounded nice though
K and N induction kit will give you the noise and a bit of performance. Add a full exhaust system and wahheeeyyy!
I like Terzo's too, anyone selling one?

petew - its a shame you moved to Dublin - two Terzo's driving round town would look sweet ! I used to own a 306 turbo diesel, which was modded quite a bit - my Terzo is slightly quicker !

Were there any other Terzo's in Harrogate when you lived there ?
SimonJM - your car looks absolutely awesome ! Especially with that high line spoiler ! Congrats on a very nice car !
Think I might go for a Bailey dump valve, even if it doesn't help the lag (not that there is a great deal !) I just love the sound of them !
PS, I don't own car number 333, mine is number 208 - i just thought "Terzo 333" was a cool username !

Terzo 333,
No other Terzo's when i left Harrogate - July this year but an awful lot of Turbo's!
Mine had 99 model spoiler as the only mod, didnt want to change it to much as it was a limited edition.
Good thing about Ireland is that Turbo's arent that common and ive yet to see a Terzo!
The police like them here as they keep stopping me ! But here its only a fine no points so you can play all day but at 50 punts a go it can get expensive!
