Mechanical Immobilisers for Paranoid Owners
Does anyone know where the fuse is for the fuel pump??
I used to remove that fuse on my Calibra - it was very simple as the fuse was at knee height behind a cover - the effect, of course is to allow the cars engine to run for a few seconds then stall ...... was always a great immobiliser I thought and pretty cheap!!

I've got Barrier Deadlock fitted, weld in type. Its unobtrusive and easy to use but it isn't obvious to the casual thief that its fitted. He only finds out when he tries to move the car. Other than that, top marks from me.
Kippax,
I had a barrier deadlock fitted after my last Scooby was stolen
Mine is the weld on version - much harder to remove. I posted on here when mine got stolen, and this appears to be the best mechanical anti-theft device.

I use a combination of a DiscLok for the steering wheel and a wheel clamp. Both sourced from Halfords. It would require a fairly determined thief to bother getting that lot off as well as getting round the alarm and immobiliser. Both are a bit of a pain to use to start with but worth perservering with. I normally start the car first and then take them both off while the car warms up a bit. When I get some dosh together I'll get a Deadlock as well. Call me paranoid, but having previously had 2 cars stolen/recovered I don't want to go through that nightmare again. AFAIC, you can't have too many security measures.

If car parked on drive get a wheel clamp, caravan showrooms sell them....
