Its not one of the cars strong points. Just type clutch in search and you should have a good bit of reading

Yes, there are some issues with Impreza clutches. I just had one replaced at 70k miles (MY96) and was told that this was an average milage for the replacement.

If yours just judders a bit when it's cold then don't worry, a lot of them do that. (Mine with the new clutch now doesn't )

Edited to say that don't pay out loads of money to get this sorted out without thinking a lot about it first. I had a new clutch kit fitted for less than £300 last week. (by a very good rally mechanic, and a decent make of clutch)

Mine judders when it's cold. I've got used to it. It is a common problem so if that's whats happening then I wouldn't worrry about it!!

Well, my MY98 Uk has just had the clutch replaced under warranty as it was only 16,000 miles since the last replacement, which was at 45,000 miles.

Dealer (Lancaster Pangbourne, outside Reading) were extremely helpful (thanks Conrad) and I was told that the only clutch IM now recommend be fitted is the one designed for the P1.

If your car's still under warranty, or you have the extended warranty, I'd try to get a new clutch - the judder just gets worse & worse as time goes on and the weather gets colder & damper.

Cheers,
Steve
