Find it a bit iffy that they cant be contacted other than e-mail....

But for £300 it could be worth having a look.
Do you reccon it would need a rolling session or a straight out of the box job??

Got an e-mail today. They say it is nearly the same as a groupN prodrive. And no bleed valve is needed. Also a on/off switch can be fitted

But still no name or number!!!
COME ON GUYS GET REAL !!!

The SIDC has been approached by the company in order to let the members know. I have asked for a full technical description.

Hi Dean probably best we carry on the discussion here as everyone can then benefit.

You've mentioned that boost is increased, but I would want to know that fuelling/timing has been altered too.

Call me a cynic, but its relatively easy to alter the boost, not so easy to do the fuelling/timing.

Although the std car overfuels I would be reassured to know that someone had retarded the ignition a little more at higher rpms/higher boost.

is it a solder in job or piggyback or what?
as there seems to be a reasonable degree of interest here what are the chances of group buy discounts?
how quickly can u make the things?
can anyone come and have a try b4 buying?
what kind of payment r u accepting?
cheers richie

Spoke to Dean this morning. he has explained that they are on a order only basis .taking about 2 weeks from deposit. I am lucky as i have a turbo estate. As he has one also with the chip fitted it would be easy for me to tell the difference.

As for fueling etc....... These type of questions are for tec heads to ask !!
But i am also interested in knowing.

Dean if you really believe in your chips, let me try one for a week or two and i will give you my opinion. I know many of us would like to hear a third party opinion on this matter.

Dean,

This is probably a stupid question - I assume that this 'upgrade' is only suitable for the Legacy? - although it sounds like something that many Impreza owners would also like to have?

Andrew...

Question

Lee

In reply to your comments, i hope the following information helps somewhat.

Alterations are mainly boost control. Over boost cut-off lifted to 19psi. The fueling and ignition are where the bulk of the performance (combined with boost) are. THe standard ECU runs very lean in the 2500-4500 range.. which cuts power, and reduces throttle response. Conversely, it then goes way rich above that, which takes a bit of the power potential. Better mixtures across the range makes a big difference. Also, the ignition has been played with to give good throttle response at light load and low rpm with some advance. It is also a little advances up top, but not enough to cause detonation. It should be very safe at the 17psi odd that it runs.

As you can see from Lukes comments these are made to order, however as interest increases i shall start to building up a stock to enable delivery to be within a 5 days.

If you need any more information please do not hesitatwe to get in contact with me.

Regards

Thumbs up

Andrew

No, it doesn't just work on the legacy, it works on the EJ20 engine that uses up to 1996 ECU

to make it clear: WRX, UK Spec Impreza and Legacy.

It sounds to me like the old Blitz chip or the PE Phase 1 conversion - plugs into an external ROM socket.
