Question

We don't have satelite TV at home at the moment. There's no cable unfortunately.
Does anyone know if coverage of the WRC is available through SKY or onDigital?

Allegedly ON covers 90% of the population, I would like to know how they work that out, none of the postcodes in my area Herts and Beds seem to have any coverage at all ???

Eurosport on Sky analogue is/was free to air but you dont get the free system on analogue, i dont know if its free to air on Digital.

British Eurosport is not free on Sky Digital.
It's only available in their Family Pack Package (£13).

British Eurosport is available on both Sky and ON Digital.
Your choice boils down to what the ON Digital coverage is like in your area and how much you want to pay.
I tried ON Digital myself last year, because Eurosport wasn't available on Sky Digital at the time. The coverage was hopeless and the set went back, I then got Sky Digital and much prefer it 'cos I could get local (welsh) channels that I have been unable to achieve on terestrial TV since 1983 when I moved to this area.
Have a look at their web sites for info.

Moz, sound like you have analogue Sky, where Eurosport is available for free. If you do have Sky Digital then please let us know.

Sunilp, it's on every day of the WRC events, well the rally stage days anyway. They usually have a program at around about 10pm for between 15 and 30 minutes. These are then repeated a few times the next day. Approx. a day after the end of the rally they have a compilation program. This compilation program is usually then used by the BBC, with some BBC interviews and extra clips added.

Hello...

Qwestion to all who watches the WRC coverage. Here in Canada, we can only watch it on Speedvision (american channel) but they only show it a few months later and they cut it to only half hour episode.

Does any of you tape the WRC coverage? If yes, how is is?

I would like to watch the full version of each WRC rally. If possible, I would like a copy (vhs) or I could download it via the internet (if someone has converted it in ASF format).

Let me know. You can email me at robin@ottawasubaru.com.

Thanks.

Paul

The only decent coverage in the UK is the BBC's coverage of the GB Rally.

You do mean that sarcastically don't you?

Eurosport cuts each day of each WRC event down to half an hour too... and the hald hour included adverts in the middle and at the end - so in reality its more like 20 minutes - total pants!

The only decent coverage in the UK is the BBC's coverage of the GB Rally.

The BBC also do

1. 1/2 Hour slot on Grandstand the weekend following the Rally

2. New Show ( Rally World or World Rally )on BBC2 at something like 14:10 on Tuesday / Wednesday following the Rally AND the Grandstand showing, which is a repeat of the Grandstand bit.

The BBC ( IMHO ) tends to spend too much time in the Studio during the Network Q and not enough in the Hills and Valleys.

Eurosport is mainly action with the odd scenic shot and is much better.

BOTH use ISC for the footage.

However it was revealed in Motoring News that the TV rights may be taken up by a new capital venture company ( APAX i.e. those that own 49% of Prodrive ) following discussions between the manufacturers and the FIA.

Whatever the coverage it is currently NOT enough.

Actually No, But I did mean it Comparatively.
