Cool

I'll second that. Hope you had a good trip back down the A50, instead of through Birmingham.
See you around.

Thanks Bob, adge and everyone else

The weekend was well beyond our expectations, with the fantastic organisation by the FAD team on the Island. The welcome from the Manx people themselves. The amazing roads (who got the msot runs over the mountain road ?), great weather, fantastic food, lots to see and do (I think we all could have done with an extra few days to see everything - just means we'll all have to return again next year ).

The gala was also superb, with great food, the Hilton all decorated out in blue and yellow for us, and of course a bar and casino which was open until 4am (when some of our group were still partying on!).

What an event - hopefully there will be lots of pictures available soon, as people start to get home and catch up with everything.

I eventually got home at 7pm last night, after the main road norht of Dundee was closed due to an accident, and had to take some back roads to avoid it (thanks Jack!!).

Even the ferry crossings were incredibly smooth and efficient.

I'm already discussing an event to be held there next year, and we've been told there will be a limit of about 60 cars (it will be a multi car club event with about 5 groups of cars, all doing different events on different days, so no overlaps or crowding, with a massive gala dinner and party to round off the event). We had 37 cars take part this year, and once all the fantastic reports start coming out, I'm sure there will be a huge demand for places for the next one

See you all again soon

Blimey, thought I'd be the last back and posting, but it appears very quiet so far!!!!

What a fantastic weekend - thanks to John and the team for organising such a great event. You can certainly count me in for next year!

So, to kick off the count, I'll come in with my "low" bid of 11 runs over the mountain in during the weekend! Any chance of getting us more than one run on the closed road section next year???

What's the news on the TT Grandstand Photo Shoot? Also, do you have an email address for the Island Photo guys as I'd like to get the prints in digital format if they've got them...

Well, best carry on with some work, although after getting back at 3am this morning I'm propping my eyes open with matchsticks...

Nick,

I'm chasing up the grandstand photos today. I believe they'll be posted up on their website or something like that, where we can order prints from.

I think the reason it's so quiet, is that many people have an extra day or two off work after coming back, and if you are like me, then you'll have loads to catch up on, and also be a bit tired!

11 runs over the mountain - I think that may just about qualify you for last place I can remember about 16 or 17, and I didn't think that was particularly high. I did hear that a few cars just went back and forth quite a few times, waiting for a gap in the traffic for a clear run.

Cheers

John

Where do I sign ?

No, I'm serious ... if this is going to happen again, I'm going to be there.

What an ace weekend !

I'll write a bit more about the highlights later in the week (first day in a new job today )

Cheers,

Thanks to John and Martin for taking me around the course (you didn't need much persuading ) and thanks to all at FAD and the IOM government for a great time.

Its a very strange experience doing well over a 100 along a country lane and passing a Police car, coming the other way, and he doesn't do more than a quick glance

I only made the gala dinner but I will have my car there next year.

Numptie, The G&Ts are on me next time

Still knackered from sleep deprivation.

Top event!

Many thanks to John S at SIDC and team FAD for a well organised event. Got back completely shattered (usually a good sign - having too much fun!) Got about 100 digi pics - will try to dig out the best ones to post).

Even the weather was kind to us!

Wore out tyres and brakes at Jurby circuit, but managed to glue it back together on Saturday morning with help from Graham and Sue - thanks guys!

Just adding my name to the list of people who will be back next year if humanly possible and a big thanks to John and all who made it such a great event. 11 runs... surely you could only have been there for the one day??

I have also got some pics and vids and will get them up on a page as soon as I get time.

Thanks

Dunno about the number of times that i did the mountain road (lots ), but i do know that i clocked up over 550 miles actually on the island - not bad when you are never more than 6 miles from the sea!!!

Thanks to everyone - organisers and attendees alike

Time to sort out the piccies

Lotus Gang back safe and sound in the early hours of this monring. Richard and Kim have now headed off to friends near Kincardine for a few weeks before heading back to Switzerland. Skye still running on Duracell Batteries. Loads of unpacking to do and an Elise to empty of sand, acorns, crisps and slugs!! What a great weekend and thanks to JohnS, the Fad Team and IOM government for making our first visit to the Island so memorable.

I think Skye wondered why we always went via the Mountain Road to get anywhere in the island. Spent most of the time flying along country roads with her shouting "faster faster" or building sandcastles on the beaches while passer bys gapped inside the Lotus. Great weather with roof off for five complete days :-) Highlight was the Mountain Road Closure which was marred slighlty by fog. Mind you that didn't stop us getting into three figures and passing some mobile chicanes (Even giving them 30+ seconds head start)

Loads of photos and video so will post later in the week once I sorted through everything

Thanks to all for making the Lotus gang welcome, though pity we ended up at the back of the grandstand photos. Can hardly see the cars in the photos we took, hopefully the official photos will be better. The photos taken on the mountain road were great.

Skye had a great time despite no other youngsters going and my thanks to everybody for making her holiday sepcial.

Thanks to JohnS and FAD for organising a superb event. Even the weather was perfect! The run up the closed Mountain section of the TT circuit was something never to be forgotten. If only the authorities in the UK could be so enlightened with regard to speed limits.

Looking forward to the chance of doing it again next year.

Just to say a big thank you to everyone involved in organising the event, and how much we enjoyed it. This was our first event with the club and it was such a pleasure to meet so many like minded people and to make good friendships.
We will definatly be coming bck next year.

Hope Paul & Debbie got home ok on the trailer and managed to get his car fixed.

A brilliant event even though I only got to do the mountain road 6 times (I'm sure easily the lowest total) I'll have to leave the wife at home next time. At least I got to do the cavalcade on my own, 130mph on a country road in fog is something I will never forget even though I had a scary tank slapper on one 100mph bend. I for one will be there next year, possibly sans wife as she says it was the most terrifying few days of her life (I'm sure she enjoyed it really).

Hi all,

Just got back from this fantastic weekend myself after extending my holiday for a couple of days. Many thanks to John, Dixie and the others involved in organising it, you all did a fantastic job and we'll definitely be back next year.

John, rest assured that there are plenty of photos to come - I shot over 1000 frames myself and they're still downloading (For those of you wondering who the bloke with the long hair and the camera was, it was me!)

Hi to everyone we met, you were a great bunch and I'm looking forward to seeing you again at the next event if not sooner. Hope those of you whose cars gave trouble managed to get home OK and that repairs are under way.

Best wishes
Andy.

Numptie: I'm busy sorting through the photos right now - there's over 1000 of them, so I haven't even looked at them all yet, let alone resized them for the web or blanked the number plates. The 20p shots are there though, and so's the pink balloon shot from the same evening

Hopefully I'll be able to post a reasonable selection by the weekend - maybe even a couple of teasers by later this evening...

As most people have said it was a great weekend and we will be reserving a place for next year at the Mount Murray.

Big thanks to JS and to FAD for a extreemly well run 4 days.
Got back to Hotel in telford at 2.00 AM after a helpfull escort out of Liverpool from Paul and Wendy (thanks guys).

Sally also really enjoyed the weekend as this was her first "Car Trip" and didn't scream at me too much. The ferry crossing was also very calm which helped as Sally doesn't like boats .

Did approx 1000 miles in 4 days saw many roads several times, only did the mountain 4 times but found lots of other roads which were less populated apart from the odd sheep (thanks Richard)

Roll on next year !!!!!!!!!!!

Gary and Sally
