Colin Noble told me that they will now fit PPP at their premises as they have a trained technician and parts in stock. Apparently they did one this morning - and I hope they'll do mine within the week! Saves a lot of hassle and the price is £1500+VAT which seems less than previously. This is for a MY00. Comments/experiences?

John

For a moment there I thought you were making an impulse purchase

Sounds good - let me know how you get on

Great news

I thought though that Prodive were the only ones that fitted it - does Prodive 'support' other outlets that do it?

John

Why have you gone for the PPP rather than say the Link etc?

I think your car form memory is from Belgium is that right? I take it you are trying to preserve the warranty.

Oh and can I have a shot - its my birthday soon ?

Yes, car is Belgium. Reasons for PPP - seems to give the best torque below 4-5000rpm (more than STi which suits the way I (usually) drive. Many say from A-B it is as quick as an STi. EVO still believe the RB5 and P1 (equally) to be the best Imprezas ever including the STi 7, UK300 (I only need the 17" wheels to get RB5 mechanicals). Very cheap on insurance. Very reliable. No repeated recalibration to do. No noisy DP required. Resale value. They will fit it locally for a good price and take it off at no charge if I don't like it. Excellent idle/cold start properties. No need for boost gauges/Knock/Lambda link. Price once you've got Link and the exhaust not too dis-similar - esp when you consider how far I would have to travel to get it. I like the below 4k refinement. If I want Link-type power it looks like I can get it later by adding Falkland DP and get 270bhp ish?

Yes you can have a shot Martin.

Well, I suppose it is a bit impulsive - I got up yesterday morning and suggested to the wife that we went and tried a PPP demonstrator - who knows why - wanted a laugh. Rang up Noble to ask if they had one and they didn't, but said they would fit it AT THEIR PREMISES, and put it back if I didn't like it. One call to the insurance company who were surprisingly helpful, and a bit of work on the wife and there we go. Tony Burns enthusiastic post from before had got me interested

LOL @ LEE P

I've got one of those too. When my PPP goes on I'll be telling her I got one of those £20 exhaust trims from Halfords, wow what a difference. . Still still thing I'm a sad b*****d, but thats preferable to coughing to having spent £1600
