SCO

I have the AP 4 pots with 304mm disks under the standard 16" wheels on a MY98.

They are superb!

I have now had them fitted for almost a year and done 6 trackdays at Knockhill. I'm on my second set of pads but the disks & calipers are fine, with no warping and minimual wear.

Well worth the money, especially if you now have the PPP fitted.

Are you ever near Edinburgh? I've always wanted to see the PPP and you could try my brakes! Kames on Sunday?

Four or six pots are pretty much determind by price. I doubt performance wise there is a lot in it.

Braking on track is unbelievable, it actually shocked me how much speed you can shed so quickly and oftem.

The four pots are available in two sizes 305 and 330.

330 should be even more fade resistant and offer more stopping force. I suspect they would also exhibit less feel ultimately, but I have no problem with my six pots.

The larger disks only fit under 17 inch wheels.

There is also an ap/brembo hybrid available from scoobysport in 305 mm for 16 inch wheels. These combine the caliper (believed to be better) from brembo and the disks (again believed to be better) from AP (owned by brembo).

Personally if upratig, I would still go for the biggest you can fit.

Thumbs up

hi all
got the PPP fitted last night....
superb!

Prodrive engineer at Nobles fitted it and was good enough to show the differences.

Superb!

there is, as has been described, a banshee sound after 4k revs.

pulls so smoothly, and never stop.
excellent upgrade.

have found brakes not quite up to it now...
are the prodrive brakes worth getting? id have to change to 17" wheels...

how much prodrive stuff has to get fitted until the car becomes a prodrive car (with prodrive sticker on back - like one i saw last night) ?

You can have the prodrive sticker from the shocks on my car. The only bit to have prodrive written on it, and ironically teh worst part of the car!

Re brakes.

Alcons are good from what I hear but I would still go for APs over them. I have a reason now in that when the disks wear on the alcons, they dont have a separate bell, so you need to replace the lot.

I personally think the APS look better.

I am sure alcon are only chosen cos tey supply the wrc team for free.

I dont see any F1 teams using alcon, but I havent looked that closely

Cool

Dark,
Yep - I am in the edinburgh area fairly often, but im about to go on hols for 10 days....
after that.. ill give u an email and we can meet up?

Adam M,
Is it possible to warp uprated disks?
I am usually babying my brakes... never using the full stopping power.
If I was to get uprated brakes, id want to use their stopping power, in the same way i use the PPP..

If the bigger brakes resist warping better, then id stump up the cash and get 17" wheels too.
cheers
