When was the term Scooby first used in film, television or the press to refer to a Subaru?

This is the answer you gave some time ago :-

In the film 'Always'(1989), John Goodman refers to Richard Dreyfus’ job as a Subaru car salesman as selling “Scooby Doos”.

I always remeber the first place I heard them referred to as Scoobs was in Performance Car (now Evo) Magazine.
