Great stuff!
(not to mention - these pics makes me appreciate Dave's and Carolyn's cars even more...that's one lesser-than-great looking car )

Time for the useless trivia ...
What was the average 'skid angle' of the car during the record ?
What was the diameter of the circle ?
Will the car be appearing at events all round the country (like Thrust SSC did )
Once again many congrats ....

Deano,
Names ? I'll let someone else do that as my head is a bit fried at the moment
Diameter of the circle being used = 110m = circumference = 408m.
Average slip angle = Sideways (don't know but approx. 30 degrees, Simon will be able to tell you).
Weather = I sorted that out.
Great piccies as always Josh. Top banana.
Cheers
Ian

Don't suppose anyone got a video of it they could upload for us all to see.. The photos just don't do the record justice , just looks like he was driving in a straight line to me , seriously tho', an mpeg would be great.

Hi All
I think the pictures show just what a staggering job sammyh from Standard Signs did!! Thank you so much Sam, the car looked fabulous!
Average angle was about 35 degrees before the temps went up, and about 25-28 (ish) degrees after as I put the heater on, cracked a window, shifted to third (instead of second - to keep the revs down), and reduced the angle to get more air through the radiator.
Ian Griffiths
Four wheel drive does not allow for oposite lock like in RWD, you have to balance the car in a four wheel drift, so when things are going perfectly, the steering will be practically straight ahead.
People in the picture...
fat bloke in the middle is me!!
left to right..
Mark - Tyres Northampton
Ian Watkins
My Mum!
My Missus!!
My Dad
Ian Cook
Shaun Fennings
My Brother

Neil Smalley (below astraboy)

Malc - Tyres Northampton
John Meltstead
Mark's Brother-in-law (from tyres northampton)
car = MY01 WRX (thank you Listers!)
I want to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to...
Ian Watkins for being a complete legend and running the show so professionally. You were a complete star Ian, thank you!
Tyres Northampton, who have been 100% COMPLETELY supportive at every stage.
MIRA, who have been incredibly supportive and provided truly the most fabulous facility in the country (and possibly the world).
sammyh - Standard Signs, for an incredible job at such short notice.
TOYO - who provided their T1S proxies, which could not have been more perfect for the job.
Competition Car Insurance who have supplied the public indemnity insurance (valued at a considerable amount of money)
Craig at New Age Motorsport for paying the expenses.
Puff The Magic Wagon! for being a complete star and keeping everyone informed.
All the sponsors which contributed so generously to the charity fund
and to Listers, for the supply of the car (which was fabulous - it has to be said) and to everyone who supported us with pledges, especially those who pledged so generously, including those who attended above.
Thanks also to Josh Levy who has shown total commitment, flexibility and reliability.
and to Outlook, and particularly Andy (the camera man to day, who overcame all sorts of obsticles to produce the result for us, great job!)
And to ALL OF YOU for the enthusiasm, encouragement and of course the pledges, which have made it so much more worth while, I cannot tell you!
I *really* hope I haven't forgotten anyone!!
All the best
Simon

I nearly felt like crying when you acheived your time mate, but with me having SUCH a hard, god-like status, it wouldn't of done my image any good!!!! Congratulations though mate, you deserve it with all the hard work you have done!!! I may just forgive you for the qualification round for the british iron man competition we had on Saturday........perhaps.
I think I can speak for everybody who attended, by saying thankyou very much for letting us see the spectacle as it happened.
Good on ya!!!!
P.S.
You forgot to mention that as I was CHIEF OF SECURITY, nobody dared pass beyond the yellow box!!!!!
Shaun.
For FORD stuff, including other useful info

Nice one Simon, good picts, shame a bunch of nutters managed to dive around the car in the top one
The types held out very well in that is the worst one, I had expected them to be a fair bit worse.
I can't believe they let you do it without any food
