the owner of an typr r v-limited, told me it wasn't an sti, i must admit it diddnt have a strut brace, pink badge, red paint in the middle of the engine(usually grey), and the redline was 7000???

please dont refer me to sidc or the other one, they diddnt provide enough info

also i thought the type-r had a tough engine, i heard rumors that the evo and the sunny gti-r are stronger. One of the reasons for me huntin fer a scooby is that its supposed to be tough?????

Did you get the applied model code? You could have looked it up and found out for certain then. It sounds like it was a WRX RA 2 door v-limited (note not STi) which is listed in the SIDC FAQ or IWOC site. Yes it will have a lower red line as it is the STi engines which have the higher rev limit. As for whether the STi engine is stronger...the RA is the basis of most group N rally car conversions (although not by Prodrive who used to use the Type R STi).

cheers steve,
the model i looked at had air con instead of the water spray, it had electric windows, roof vent, no adjustable diff switch.

I thought a RA had no air con, no leccy windows etc.....
