Rum!
LINK owners, use it for protecting their engines.. that can only be a plus.
Cost £1500.00 i think, cost on insurance IMHO O% loading given it prolongs the life of the engine

As you will probably have seen I have teamed up with Jeremy Pace (of Randall Pace Insurance Services) in an attempt to set up a motor insurance scheme aimed at not only providing competitive quotes...but also a level of service that we all expect!! We are obviously looking at all the bells and whistles of a standard policy...along with Track Cover etc...
Both of us drive Scoobs (as you probably know) and have similar interested associated with them.
Both our cars are modified as well.
However the one area that is always a stumbling block with the underwriters are the vehicles modifications...
What I am looking at doing is compiling a list of all mods, their costs, and their advantages (i.e. power increase etc)...
If you get a chance please could you detail the various mods (HKS, Scoobysport, Brembo, Alcon whatever) that have been carried out to your vehicles (we don't require details of the car)...
Many thanks
Tom

Well, I'll start the ball rolling...
Backbox (Scoobysport or pretty much anything) - cosmetic only, 25 year guarantee, with absolutely minimum impact on power though great noise £300
K&N 57i Induction kit - guaranteed for a 1,000,000 miles so quality and value replacement part. Has increased mid-range urgency but hopefully not peak power as I don't take my car above 6k RPM... £60
17" p1 wheels - handling. Major difference in ride quality (for the better) and handling. £lots
Oh, and PIAAs - allows you to see in the dark. £180 (DRMotorsport ) or 430 from your local friendly Subaru dealer.

Tom,
You should know all this already but, here goes.
blackbeast spec is:
HKS Super Flow air filter/induction kit
Cusco/STi Front Strut Brace, Apex centre pipe
and N1 back box
Cusco Power Brake Cylinder Brace
Greddy Turbo Timer
HKS Boost Gauge in GReddy A-Pillar Pod
Don't ask about costs as I've no real idea as all the bits were on the car when I got it.

Rum,
I know I'm not a customer of yours (yet). But here's the info..
UK94 modified with :-
Cosworth pistons (£1000)
~ Expensive but necessary for future upgrades
Mongoose SS exhaust (£400)
~ Great noise.
APEXI AVC-R (£300)
~ Boost management. Max 1.3bar. Huge difference.
APEXI AFC (£300)
Unknown benefits, maps fuel for AVC-R
APEXI BoV (£250)
~ Suppose to protect turbo
PiperX intake
~ Lovely noise ~ much better induction.
Hybrid VF23 Turbo (included in engine build, individual cost unknown)
~ Powerful, little lag
Raceline 17" RL5 wheels (£?)
Tarox disks
Mintex 1155 pads
Power unknown. Max boost 1.30bar
Mark

Rum, would you mind if we emailed the info to you?
I did put the stuff up, but I have taken it down as I am not keen on broadcasting it.

Sti V Rear Wing (DR Mototrsport replica) £350 (massively cheaper than a std replacement at around £900) + 0bhp + so far proving to be less nickable (it has lasted 3 times as long as the std one)
Colour Coded Skirts (£120(ish)) + 0bhp
17" Stilauto Alloys (£900 with tyres) (again less than std alloys) + 0bhp + improved turn in & more grip
If being picky:
PIAA Superwhite light bulbs £60(ish) + 0 bhp + allows you to see 10ft in front of the car rather than the std 5

*Swona Back Box (£350 i think, was on car)
Sound.
*QuickShift (dunno price, was on car)
Shift-feel
*PIAA Driving Light Conversion (dunno price, was on car)
To spot Deer at night
*Digital Compass thingy(?)
To give a reason to drive to the sea, reset its altitude, and go for a drive up mountainous roads to find out how high they are.

Rum
Don't you run into problems with the cumalitive (sp?) affect of mods?
An SS backbox has no impact to performance if fitted in isolation. But in conjunction with a decat downpipe it makes a large difference over an OE backbox with the same decat d/p.
Just a thought.
Regards
Richard
