Halfords clay bar?
#1
Has anyone used a Halfords clay bar? if so how do you use them properly & are they any good? I was given one today (oh, er!!) and I`m a bit suspect about it scratching the paint, are they a bit like a T-cut type thing? Any tips much appreciated

They work very well. They are a VERY mild abrasive, but providing you use them with a lubricant (soapy - not detergent - water is as good as anything) they will not cause damage. You must NOT use them dry.
The Halfords ones are a bit big and need cutting into about three smaller ones. They get tar spots off like nothing else.
Once a side of it is dirty, stretch and fold it over to expose a clean face.
Use in straight lines along the panels, not round in circles, to cut down the swirl marks.
My local Halfords took them off the shelf and put them in the bargain bucket - so i've got about the next five years supply...

Thanks very much for that lads Is there a noticable difference after using one then polishing with Autoglym super resin (sorry all you WW lovers, please don`t abuse me for this ) as I`m sure all sorts of polish has accumulated on my car over the years.
