Question

I was wondering if any owners had fitted a mesh behind the front spoiler to protect their radiator from stone damage.

My scoob is only a month old and I have noticed it has already taken a couple of hits!

I would have thought a hole through the radiator would be an arm and a leg!

A fine black mesh could look quite smart if installed well.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I noticed this as well, but my front rad is the a/c condenser even more expensive to fix.

As a temp. measure I have used a length of plastic gutter mesh which fits perfectly in the lower opening.

Also I've noticed debris collecting on the intercooler, so I fixed a galvanised mesh across the opening (, not the prettiest thing but cheap and damned effective.

The mesh is across the intercooler, not across the bonnet aperture.

I think that Pete C from Scoobysport was looking into this ages ago. Haven't heard of he's come up with anything though.

There are instructions for fitting both an intercooler and a radiator protector on the IWOC web site under Modifications;
