Thats what I thought when I drove my Lexus IS200 after 6 weeks of exclusive Scoob driving. I used to think the Lex was a great handling car, but now it scares me

Hi Mate - my wife used to have a Renault Scénic - now that WAS scary after the Scoob. Tried taking a corner at 40 that I usually do 60 through - nearly ended up on the roofbars...... :0)

Mate of mine used to refer to the handling characteristics of his old car as "like a pig on castors."

Wink

Took a mates Merc 200 something or other over the Cairn o Mount road - Very nearly ended up doing a McCrae - Definately sofa on Castors

By the way - Loads of Lexi up in Aberdeen - Where it has been known to snow - and they have a button on it labelled "Snow". What you do is you wait for it to Snow, press this button, lock the car and get the bus !

Red face

Try a Mk3 Golf GTi 16v.

To think VW thought that was an acceptable "sports car" setup is a joke.

But it makes me appreciate the Scoob's sharpness all the more...

Actually the difference this button makes is astounding. Last time it snowed, I backed the car off the drive and then found I couldn't get the car to move at all, so I pressed the Snow button. Still wouldn't move, but now the traction control would stall the engine instead of letting the wheels spin

My mates regulary get stuck in the gutters round Aberdeen - the .0004 degree slope and snow prevents forward or reverse movement completly. I think the button activates an emergency beacon or something

I prefer, handles like a Camel on acid in a sea of quicksand

NotoriousREV, whatever you do, don't ever drive a Westfield. I bought one a few weeks ago, and now the Scooby feels like its steering gear is made of rubber

Thumbs down

Andy C 772....

To correct this condition book your Scoob in for a service or repair at your local Subaru dealer. Plead with them to give you a Justy as a courtesy car....then you'll appreciate getting back into the impreza.

Worst handling car I've EVER driven...!

I had the Justy once. Heck, what a horrible car.

Amazingly, despite its 4WD and clockwork engine I STILL managed to spin the wheels several times without even trying. It has no LSDs at all, so as soon as one wheel loses grip, all the others stop going round. What a complete waste of time!

There might be worse to come, though. My Scooby's next service is the big 45k one, and Adams of Aylesbury just got a Daihatsu franchise...

Andy_C have fun . Had a Daihatsu Terios as a courtesy car once. Took it to Wales on a road I knew well, up the hill, tight left round the bend.....

....no, I said "round the bend"; just managed to hoik it back from the wrong side of the road in time, every bit of suspension creaked and protested as it fought to stay upright. My passenger woke up with a look of sheer terror on his face. That was one scary "car".[/i]
