test drove a forester turbo-s yesterday. what a great machine. i'm hooked. feels like a small range rover.

definitely the next purchase - need more space but can't face a megane scenic.

prodrive wr sport upgrade gives it 205bhp - anyone here driven one?

not driven one, but would say looking at imports is definately worthwhile as standard power is 240bhp.

I wouldn't have thought there was much more room than a wagon but I maybe wrong.

evo magazine ran a uk one as a fleet car a bit over a year ago I think, they had the Prodrive mods and loved it!

If you have the money and have been frightened by the lies about warranties, servicing.... grey imports then keep to a UK car.
However, if you want a car that is £4-5000 cheaper than a Prodrive one, yet still does 240 bhp (I have also heard that there may have been 250 bhp ones)then get a grey import. 0-60 is seen in around 6 secs. Keeps up with Imprezas to about the ton but then its brick like aerodynamics start taking over, but it will reach 140 mph (indicated) soon after.
Servicing and warranties are not a problem and good import shops have service records and auction details.
Add a Scoobysport box and filter and its a real Q car.
The interior is like an Impreza but with massive headroom and the boot is nothing to write home about - but it does me OK for work use.

I have driven a ppp one! Suspension and engine

My Dad has a forester and whilst picking up my impreza I had the pleasue to drive a ppp one.

It was good but to be honest i am not sure it was worth all the money for the upgrade. The handling was much better and mid range power was improved but i think they quoted £3000. Don't get me wrong it was much much nicer and would give loads of people grief but £3000. If money is no object then definately.

Looked at ST/B when getting our UK wagon Impreza... Forester's bigger (taller) in back.

I was also impressed.

Simon.
