I am gutted...

I've been playing the USA version of GranTurismo II for the last 3 weeks...I've got some cool cars...some cash...all Licenses

I purchased the UK version of GT2 on friday only to find that the GT2 USA save game on my memory card won't load (the filenames are different...looked in action replay card memory manager).

Guess I'll have to start again

Stef...have you had any problems like this ?

This is a design feature to stop naughty boys bringing in cheap games for the mass market, thus reducing profits for Sony. Whats even worse is that the US version is bugged - just don't enter the machine test option or you'll regret it.......

Oh Well...I'll have to start again.

Just for the record...the USA version is ther original purchased in the USA by my buddies wife. I can see where sony are coming from as a Software Engineer myself.

Cheers

Ian.

How do you get the stuff from GT1 to load on? I have tried using the "convert" function, but nothing seems to happen. It seems to say "loading" but when I start the game, it's as if I'm starting from scratch. After "converting" I have tried loading the game from the memory card with the GT1 stuff and it comes back with an error - any ideas?

Cheers

After a lot of buggering about, I've found out that you can pnly transfer licences from GT! to 2, not cars or cash. Some people have commented that whats the point of transfering cash, but I've got an impatient 7 year old who wants to drive a Lancia Delta S4!!

Cheers for the response.

What a pain! Oh, well - a few sleepless nights approaching! I have to say that I am fairly unimpressed with the "advancement" over GT1. They seem to be more worried about getting loads of reflections on the car thaan getting the little details right. Ah, well, better start saving up for the 1999 WRC....

Cheers

And it doesn't work under Bleem 1.4 either...

Tracks, menus etc all work fine both under software or Hardware DirectX7.0 acceleration, but all of the car textures are diplayed as black or bright pink....

Now who did I lend my Playstation to?

Another GT2 question:

Anybody using a NegCon controller? I tried mine over the weekend on the arcade disk and the control is abysmal. Ive tried going into the set up but little joy - plus it takes too damn long to get to the menu. Controller works fine on other games with no need for set-up.
Is there a known problem with the NegCon or can anybody offer any advice.
