Would it not be easier for people just to write their membership number on the receipt and then the club send a cheque directly to each member, or offer a 'club credit' to be used in the shop?
Sending all the chequs to you to then send out seems pointless.

Thumbs up

Some good news for all SIDC members attending Bentley. I've managed to get some funding from the club for food.

Here's the deal.

Each SIDC membership, not person if family mebership (so I would guess this is the person who's name is on the membership card) has a £5 budget for food and non-alcoholic drink, so you buy your food, either beforehand, or at the cafe at Bentley.

What you then need to do is to give me the receipt which MUST contain your name, address, SIDC membership number and your signature.

I will then send off all the receipts to the SIDC and they in turn will reimburse me and i'll then send you a cheque for the appropriate amount, hence the requirement for an address.

If you don't want to, or forget to bring the receipt to Bentley on sunday don't worry, come and find me (won't be difficult, I'll be the one with all the food ) and I'll give you my address and you can post the receipt to me.

Note, there is closing date for me receiving receipts and that date is Friday 22nd June 2001 - so that gives you two weeks after bentley to get them to me which should be more than enough. Any received after that will NOT be sent on, sorry.

So, does this make sense?

Please note that I am not trying to nark off any non-sidc members, I wish that I could get the club give £5 a head for anyone coming but they would not do that for some strange reason

** Edited to add that the £5 is per membership and not per person **

You can, of course, sign up to the SIDC on-line now...

Question

As the SIDC memebership is for a family, does that mean £5 per person or per membership.

I guess my girlfriend will have to pay for herself!!

Scoobynet moderators What can you do about them? I think that we'll have to introduce a special membership rate for them. Seriously though, if you are going to Bentley then this a great opportunity for you to join the SIDC at a minimum cost. If you don't have your membership numbers through just state the date that you posted your application or signed up at

Stef,
Do agree with you, but it was decided that the club would prefer to reimburse a single member (me) thus i would then redistribute the wealth, thus adding to my Robin Hood fantasy

Of course if SIDC wants to change this and have everyone send the recipts direct then that's fine with me, saves any additional work on my part.

I'll email tony and see what he says.

Good idea chaps. I would be happy to have £5 off my membership for next year, rather than generate all that extra work!

It was not clear form Markus' first e-mail exactly what he was planning to do. I wasn't sure whether it was going to be a DIY affair or whether Markus was going to try to organise food for the masses. I'm sure that Lee and his willing helpers would be pleased to write the cheques/do the mailing. I might try to go myself depending on how things work out this week.

I think that using Markus as the first point of contact for gathering receipts will work well. After that we'll see how big a response there is and I'll talk with Lee about the practicalities of administering a credit system on the database.

Tony,
Sorry to you and the rest of SIDC and the rest of the scooby can for being a pillock and not sorting this out as best I can.

OK, final situation is this:

1: You MUST, MUST, MUST bring along your SIDC membership card so I can take details from it and verify who you are.

2: I will then take your name, address (to send you your money), and membership number and write it down (or you can if you want) No recipts are necesarry.

I will then send all this off to SIDC and then get back a cheque and I'll then redistribute the funds back to you (as I have your address)

hope this makes things clear.

Any problems, give me a kicking on sunday

A big thanks for organising this one.

So, what's the general concensus on supplying food - are we bringing for ourselves, or for a 'food mountain'?

Daniel,

I believe that some people are either going to bring food for themselves, use the cafe there, or possibly hit the nearby pub if the weather turns out really bad. So unfortunately no food mountain...if there was, I'd be one of the people sitting in the middle of it

Edited to say that if you did not come and find me and sign my form then unfortunatley you cannot claim the £5 food reimbursment.
