Cool

Going home up the A9 today spotted something low and wide in the distance so stuck it down a couple of gears and went after my prey! got right up behind him just before a stretch of dual carriageway, he spotted me coming and started to accelerate,I was flat out in 4th and then a small puff of smoke from his exhaust and he was gone! like i was sitting still, What a machine! Caught up with him eventually and he parked up and had a chat, turned out it is the only Ferrari F40 in the world that is F1 tuned! didnt know whether to believe him but it did have F1 written on the wing instead of F40 so maybe? I know whats on my christmas list this year now though!!

Colin.

Sounds like it is not just the RS/Nova boys that enjoy automotive exaggeration

As an aside...

Fastest F40 I have ever seen was at Donington, full GT1 spec and some. Reputed to run at over 1000hp at full boost and without silencers, was estimated to be around 750hp on the day. Screamed round Donno in a fraction over 1 minute streaked past GT40s, 911 and Viper GT2s, Lister Storms, and another F40 etc like they were stationary Unbelievably impressive....until Geoff Farmers Pacific F1 car came out and made the F40 look like it had missed a gear down the main straight Lapped Donno in 50secs Now THATS a track car

Wink

The car infront of the F40 is a 512TR. Effectively a facelifted Testarossa. Arguably the nicest looking of the three "Testarossa" incarnations (original Testarossa, 512TR and then 512M ). Sounds lovely with de-catted exhausts!

Matt

BTW, I'll get my coat

God no - far from it Struggled to be allowed on to track at Donno due to noise regs...even after a full brace of silencers had been fitted

Looks very nice.

MattOz,

There are actually 4 Testarossas The 3 you mentioned and one which was built between 1958 and 1959. That was when it read "Testa Rossa". Obviously extremely rare and at auction can, and do, fetch over £2,000,000. It is my all-time favourite car.

Taxi for Tom

Cheers,
Tom
