UK300 PPP Question for ProdriveMike W
#1
Mike, currently thinking of UK300 with PPP, could you advise if Prodrive are going to allow the dealers to fit this option to this car. I am currently running into problems covering both cars insurance wise to allow the UK300 to be registered in my name and then to wait for it to be PPP'ed by yourselves. Thanks for any info.

You are going to have to get it fitted at Quedgeley. Your insurance company should run dual cover for you. There is no way round this. My dealer has spoken to everyone about the options.

I have heard unofficially that dealers may be "trained" to fit it in the very near future, hence the question to ProdriveMike W. Current waiting time on the UK 300 is approx 1 month plus, during which time you are required to cover two cars with insurance and at additional cost. Seems like a ill thought idea from IM.

The whole matter of fitting of the performance package to 01MY WRX is still in discussion.
At the moment the work is only being done at Quedgeley on UK300 but keep in touch with your dealer.
The main problem is that the work cannot be done prior to registration and to register the car you have to tax it which means that it needs insuring. Unfortunately there is no way around this.

I had a similar situation with my RB5 WR.
It needed registering and thus insuring before it could go to Prodrive from the dealers.
Privilege Insurance were good about it and put a second car on my policy for a two week period and then just swapped one to the other when I picked the RB5 up.

Mike and others thank you very much for replies, my insurance has agreed to cover a 2 week period but it appears that the time between registering the car and delivery maybe 4-6weeks, which means I am required to pay an additional insurance premium for one of the cars. This is not an acceptable situation when all I wish to do is buy a PPP car now.
I have spoken to IM this morning re the same and I have never come across such an unhelpful uniformed bunch in my life. Subaru customer service does not exist !.
