Default Engine codes

Hi all having trouble figuring out what type of engine I have as it doesn’t mate strut tower plate, code under dog mount/ at the top of bell housing 131378-131833. Other code is 758043 which is stamped on flat portion in front of stater motor, if anyone to shed some light on what it is, it would be appreciated thanks again

What type/year of vehicle are you talking about and is it UK, JDM, USDM ???

What does the VIN plate say?
How doesn't it match the engine?

Some possibilities....

It’s a 1999 uk2000 so a uk car but no it didn’t match the plate on passenger side front strut so that’s what threw me off, there should be an other number in between the two numbers I’ve stated but it’s not readable, it isn’t stamped in like the other two numbers, the engine image you put up there the code would be 758043, thanks

VIN Plate Engine "type" for a MY1999 UK "Turbo 2000" should be either EJ205NW1KE (with A/C) or EJ205NW1KD (w/o A/C)

You have an unusual engine situation, since the codes under the mount before the starter don't match the strut support plate. It's best to check with AUDI VIN Check and you'll be able to find out exactly which engine was installed from the factory, its specifications, and compatibility with other parts.

Doing some further digging the numbers stamped/etched into the crankcase bell housing joint across the 2 halves of the crankcase is possibly 2 numbers each one for identifying each half during production processes. ( yours being 131378?-?131833)
For example:

The stamping above the starter motor penetration is the actual engine serial number (in your case 758043)
