It's that time of year when the insurance is due.
As I have a Scoobysport Impreza (brakes, suspension, exhaust, downpipe, lights & spoiler) I started to telephone the brokers recommended on the BBS.
However, Greenlight stipulated that I would need to provide an engineers report. I've never heard anybody mentioning this before on the BBS, so can somebody shed some light on this. What is involved and worst of all what's it going to cost me?

Howard

When we insured a previous car with Greenlight, they asked us for an engineer's report too.
We asked the guy who serviced our car to write the report for us. He did so on headed paper saying all mods were professionally fitted and guaranteed and they were fine with that.
I'm sure Pete Croney would oblige.......

Howard, Have you been speaking to Tony at Greenlight - if not then I suggest you do. I had a problem with them with my wifes Jeep and after a few weeks of heated exchanges with some of his staff Tony sorted it out over the phone.

Question

Well, can we hear about it as others have been recommending Greenlight?

Regards

You certainly can!!
In my experience, yes, they know what they are talking about, regarding modifications, track days etc - all the stuff you want to hear, at a reasonable price too - so you feel confident and take out the policy.
Then it all goes pear-shaped!! My policy took about 4 months to come thru' so each 30 days they issued me with another cover note (not automatically - after many phone calls) - each time the cover notes came thru, there were at least 3 or 4 mistakes on it. I had a cherished plate removed and they could not seem to get a grip of the change in registration number. I rang, faxed, wrote - the lot...........but still too many mistakes.
I just think that with such poor administration - I'm glad I never had to claim thru' them.
Just my experience anyway..................
