Default A question about a HPI check.

If your going to be doing a HPI check and a car has been on a UK plate, then on a private plate for a few years, then back to a UK plate which i also think is a private plate, how will that work with a HPI check because as far as im aware when ive done a HPI check in the past its just been on the registration plate rather than the vin number.

Just do it on the current plate, be it UK plate or private plate it shouldn't matter. It will show what plates were ever applied and when etc.

The chassis number should give you the same results as the current plate anyway.

If it's never had a "normal" UK Mainland plate in it's life, when the current owner takes off the private plate, the DVLA will allocate it a UK Mainland age related plate.
