Cylinder heads
Hi all I have an Sti wagon on an s plate, apparently the engine has been rebuilt and the heads are of an rb5, can someone explain the difference and if I am best replacing them where to source some replacements from, thanks

both cars are sti , if it’s running fine i would not worry about it , rb5 is quite rare i wonder if they are actually heads from an rb5 and where they came from , sti heads are normally better flow and stronger with slightly different cams in them 👍

as above RB5 had no mechanicla differences to the UK Turbo2000 it was based on..........
UK MY99/00 cars used slightly milder cams and "over bucket" shims in comparison the the STi spec cams and "under bucket" shim arrangement..

There was a prodrive version of the rb5 that was higher spec but even rarer , a bit more power and a few prodrive bits added on 👍 i’m still in the wr1 camp

do you mean the optional WR Sport pack that basically added a slightly different spoiler and a PPP kit - oh and a nice decal on the speedo face............
still mechanically the same as any other UK Turbo of that era

just to add as Prodrive 'built' the special edition cars anyhows (Catalunya, McRae edition, Terzo, etc) I am not sure how you can get an 'even more special' Prodrive version???
