Default Has anyone viewed this car?

How’s it going everyone. New member here, joined yesterday to help myself hunt down a suitable Subaru. Had a 09 wrx hatch last year for 6 months, I actually wanted a classic or blob but a local man was selling a very genuine standard hatchback with only 70k so I purchased it instead. Fun little car but just wasn’t what I wanted.

so now I’m on the look out for a good classic, not fussed on what I end up with aslong as it’s sound underneath! Uk2000, wrx, Wrx sti etc.

I know the history of this car dealer is colourful at least lol, so believe me my eyes are wide open and ready for nasty suprises and I don’t mind wasting my own time for peace of mind. But has anyone actually looked at this exact car?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...w&modal=photos

Thanks!!

find out the uk reg check that on the mot data base , plus grab the vin , then use carvx to check it , it says fresh import , the dvla site will confirm this , most jdm imports are normally good nick rust free but not necessarily all 👍

Ask for the vin, CarVX will show the truth if you're serious. They probably wont give you the vin.

Like a lot of that dealer’s stock it’s been on sale for a very long time. At least two years. It’s half the price of other cars. Yes, it’s going to be totally legit.

Thanks for your help and replies folks. They are to send me updated pictures off the car on Monday and I have asked for pictures off underneath aswell but whether they will go to the effort or not, I don’t know yet.

ps. where do you guys browse for subarus? Very little selection on the usual gumtree, autotrader, ph, ebay etc. Ofcourse 2 months ago when I wasn’t ready too buy there was any amount in my price range! Sod’s law now their is nothing lol

I would do some more research on that dealer before going any further. Not many positive reviews and been fined £50k by trading standards a couple of years ago.

I know the dealers history... as I said my eyes are wide open and I am expecting something too be wrong with it. No harm in looking I suppose?

Just there is nothing for sale at the minute and I’m not looking a low mileage, pristine car. I want a car to drive and have fun with, which will also be used as a daily for the foreseeable future.

I've found a lot of these are going for sale on Facebook especially in the groups. I personally don't use facbook so I'm sure one of the more tech savvy members will be able to assist you.

Normally I would say Pistonheads or Ebay but they seem to be drying up. Also try posting in the wanted section

That steering wheel looks a bit funky.

If they don’t give you the vin i would probably walk away , if it’s a fresh import then the carvx will show the mileage , the mot check will show when it was bought into the uk plus any mot issues , if you are happy with what you hear no reason not to buy it , the garage sounds like it’s not a good one but if they have had no input into the car then it should not matter where you buy it from , uk hpi check worth it too in case it’s finance or other issues etc

Looks like it's been in a front end crash and fixed on the cheap on the strength of an airbag cover that clearly doesn't come from the wheel it's fitted to!

I don’t think it’s morally right to give them your cash anyway, considering how many people they have screwed over the years.

I emailed them via autotrader as I have seen the car up before months ago and thought it would have been sold. According to them they still have it which is strange?

I had emailed them via autotrader to see if they still had it, but rang them after I sent the message to get told it was sold on the phone, then 10minutes later I got a email back from them too say yes they still have the car and was there anything they could help me with.

Motor hub must be a strange business too say the least lol

2.4 score on Google I wouldn't give them any cash at all, you could end up with a right money pit.

I think you read the advert wrong, it's the number plate he's selling.🤣
seriously though I do remember seeing that car advertised about two years ago when I was looking for a vehicle, I gave up in the end looking and paid to have one imported.
I've just looked on Pistonheads and cleaner cheaper cars to be honest especially as that one looks like a skip inside.
