Why is the impreza so expensive?
As the title suggests can anyone explain why the impreza wrx sti is so expensive, when I bought my impreza a couple years ago the 2.0l STI was around 8k for a decent one but now they are on autotrader for pretty crazy money with a decent one going for ~12k im sure some people have priced it too high as I saw a stock silver one going for 16.5k surely thats too much?

trouble is they are getting it for them lol so just goes to show they are all on the rise ,, once a iconic car becomes a certain Age people will start being willing to pay a premium for what they concider a nice example
escorts went the same way ,, once it was only the Mexico or rs2000s that made the good money now any clean shell makes silly money even if it is a 1.1 lol

If you think impreza's are going up, you should check out how much Skyline R32, R33 and R34's have gone up. It maybe to do with how engine regs are tightening up around the world, Ford stopped making the RS as they didn't feel it was economically possible to develop a new engine that met the new emission regs and still produced the same power. It seems older petrol engined cars that produce a lot of power are on the rise.

thats the weird thing at the mo ,, a standard wrx will make just as much money as a modified one due to the amount of people out there now who are looking for standard cars to either put away or to just show off with lol
nearly all the scoobs iv sold recently have been due to the fact they are very standard , any mods on them have been asked to be swapped back ,,so the market has shifted slightly from poeple wanting to save money on moddifed scoobs to ones who just want it to be untouched and are willing to pay extra to have it like it

jdm import prices have gone through the roof , a 11250£ car will now be around 15k £ , apparent reason is not brexit or exchange rates , car auction prices in japan have gone up , good for selling not good for buying

It's not just Impreza's, it's not just classic/collectable cars... we're in the biggest speculative asset price bubble the world has ever seen thanks to epic levels of financialisaton, zero interest rates, endless money printing and cheap n' easy debt.
Pretty much anything and everything that can even vaguely be described as an ''asset class'' has seen it's ''value'' reach record highs in recent years with all the post-2008 QE sloshing around in the financial system .
