Default Engine bay dress up

Hi all years ago I did the whole engine dressup thing with the kit that comes with Allen key heads on and ever since lived in regret as it’s a pain in the **** and wanting to go back to the normal type bolts which you can undo with normal socket set


ive seen these but not 100% sure

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192564180856 to replace the Allen key type that are on

I’m assuming I won’t need extra washers for these?

what ya all reckon??

I've just fitted this kit.
how comes you find it a pain compared to standard bolt

Looks like it’d do the job but you may need to shorten some of them like for stuff that fixes to the inlet manifold as if you bottom out you can strip the thread.

Personally I’d try and find them in A2 or better still A4 marine stainless steel as yellow zinc can rust pretty quick if it’s a thin coat.

it may be just me but I find the normal bolts easier to tighten up especially if taking intercooler off the genuine bolts were easier to put back on and off imo

always afraid I might round them off 😬

the normal socket bolt type I get a good feel of tightening it up without the fear of rounding them off

if you know what I mean.

gonna give it a try and replace like for like 👍

I don’t mind swapping them round for fresh ones at that price every few years or so if they start rusting 😬
