Seen this up forsale for £500 with engine now relisted 99p with no engine or gear box. Is it worth much?

Not a great deal. Even the gen 2 and 3 limited edition legacies (e-tune, B4 RSK, blitzen etc) don't hold their value like a impreza or FSTI. The gen 4 legacy performance models are a bit more expensive, but still cheaper than an impreza. The WR Ltd models and "tuned by sti" are superb.
Which can make them a bargain if you're after something a bit bigger and more refined than an impreza.
