Default Replacing 5 speed gear linkage

Hi guys

I bought the replacement gear linkage unit as my current one is sloppy on an sti v3 5 seems speed.

Is this a job for an amautuer mechanic?

I can change turbos, spark plugs, oil and the likes but we wondering if I should be able to tackle this?

is there any step by step guides available?

It's the bushes that wear and cause the slop. One of them involves removing the exhaust and lowering the gearbox cradle to get access IIRC. Best done with a lift.

Very helpful!
Is easy to do but a barstool to get to.
No dropping gearbox nonsense but removing exhaust helps a lot.Almost impossible to do on the ground.
