Just picked up my 1996 wrx v- limited coming home all was fine not thrashing it as had wife and kids in , went to tesco to put some 99 ron fuel in and about 12 miles after the engine check light came on engine running fine but won't boost past about .8 bar it just kicks back I assume this is a safety device . But smelt abit any ideas ? Thanks

 

1st thing I would do is check the fault code/CEL using the built in diagnostics:
