Default STI engine in blobeye WRX

My standard engine on my 2005 wrx blobeye has gave up the ghost on 117k and is running on 2 cylinders compression tested cylinders:-

1. 140 psi
2. 50 psi
3. 140 psi
4. 30 psi

i was wondering would i be able to drop the sti engine from a bug/blobeye as a straight swap nothing else involved?

if so what exactly is inolved?

i have a vf35, 565cc injectors etc etc but using the standard WRX ECU

thanks

You'll need an ECU that can control AVCS and the wiring to go with it.

or just run the system closed, my wrx run an sti engine without the avcs heads wired up and it made 354bhp. it is obviously better to have the wiring sorted to reap the benefits though.

i do believe that the jdm wrx ecu can run them along with a loom from jt innovations.

whichever way you go you need to get it mapped to suit and also find the reason behind your failed engine
