Was looking at this earlier, not convinced. JDM but no IC spray bottle next to the IC? 2 pot WRX rear calipers, WRX seats and steering wheel? But then again, it's a limited and I'm not sure on the spec of those?

What's going on with the window wipers aswell? They're off but one is halfway up the windscreen? Also the type RA door stickers and boot badge? To be fair, the stickers could always just be a previous owner getting a bit excited, but to an enthusiast, it adds to the list of 'things not right with this car'.

also rather strangely, very little MOT History for a car of its age.

It has Spec C skirts and obviously a roof flap, but those features are far from conclusive. The seats aren't typical Spec C seats, but there was one version that came with crap seats. I believe it was called the gravel or tarmac edition, and it also had 16 inch wheels and did not have Brembos iirc.

How can you tell it doesn't, pal?

JDMs have a rear wiper but Spec Cs don't.

Overall, yep, it's a bit of a mutant. Photos of the VIN plate and inside the boot (to see if it has the water tank) would be quite telling, although as we saw on that dodgy ringer the other day, even a VIN can be misleading. One thing's for sure: I won't be buying either of them!

Reminds me of this that's been for sale for yonks,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...gAAOSwcBhWYxfl

I think this one (above) is a genuine spec c, but what's with those poverty spec deck chairs for front seats?
They look straight out of a GL model, surely they can't be right?

Quite possibly a Spec C that's had all the goodness ripped from it then built back up using WRX parts which would explain what looks like a WRX engine and 5 speed box with an R160 rear end and 2 pot calipers.

Talk about an unprovoked, unjustified attack from the forum thicko!!!

"Spending all (my) time in here"? Erm, you have a higher 'posts per day' count than I do!

"Trolling"? Moi? Look up "irony" in a thesaurus!

I'm hardly a Subaru encyclopaedia, but I know far more than you do. At least I post some constructive words, whereas you just embarrass yourself by posting mindless rubbish like "cracking car, bud" or "what an animal".

And how do you know I don't own a Subaru? You don't even know how to spell your own name. You can't even quote properly, LOL.

Now why don't you go and drive your hatch. It is worth £30k after all.

That's a genuine Spec C. Subaru sold that version with crap brakes and seats, no spoiler, steel wheels etc as it was meant for the motorsport world....i.e. the buyer would ditch all those and put pukka spec stuff on it.

It would make a great car with those miles if you had the parts to sort it out.

Will take a few, but as said photo inside the boot would help(no carpet and large intercooler tank) also a picture of vin plate would tell you exactly what it is. Top mount intercooler is not a standard Spec C one.

The VIN plate will tell all. Everything else is guesswork
