Default Any way to get Torque app work with JDM?

Hi all, I've got Torque and elm327 which are working fine on my wife's Honda but even when app is showing that it's connected to ecu is no showing any data. I found on SN that there are problems to get it working with JDM, anybody managed to read data using elm327 and torque from theirs jdm? Thanks

Early JDM's are not OBD compliant and will only communicate with SSM.

Well that is strange as I have no issues, which obd dongle did you try ?
I just got the cheapest mini on ebay to try, and it was fine with my Tablet, not got the app on my phone if that makes any difference.

Not difficuilt no.just go through the serrings and in there somewhere is says subaru ssm.there is also a video on youtube to show you.that dongle retails at bout £100 but its pretty much the only bluetooth module that works.there are maybe 2 others but they are very slow talking to the app.so ive read.
