Default Gun metal grey caliper paint?

Looking to respray my calipers gun metal grey, last paint i used was blue heat paint, but i can't find any heat resistant paint thats gun metal grey.

Cheers for the link

Although its the rubbish brush on stuff, i should of specified i wanted spray paint, i completely forgotten you can get paint on kits with brushes, only used them once and didn't look a good job, so only used spray paints from then on. unless anyone else can convince me other wise?

They do a recon service in house with a 4 year warranty, could contact them?

it says they can do spray on or brush on .maybe the spray is only if they do it

Just watched a you tube video which claims that if you use a high temp primer and high temp clear coat you can paint the caliper with any colour 2k paint you like . I might go that route

Yeah had a thread on that on here, but some of the lads on here were saying the paint underneath it blisters over time. Something about it being water based I think was said.

Highly recommend VHT primer, coat and lacquer.

Ive recently refurbed my brembos using 'Nu Cast Iron ' slightly darker gun metal, ill post some pics , will have to give me some time as I'm on a new laptop

Cheers for link, I can't see to find the colour your talking about. But would love to see pictures of your calipers.

I think there the companies spray cans I used before in a blue colour. He's a list of there caliper paints.

Just used VHT ht primer, then Nu Cast iron (its actually ht engine enamel) then ht clear coat.

Quick tip is i used starchem to strip, nasty stuff but saves a lot of time prepping.

Finally, cured in the oven for couple of hours , low temp

I will be buying and spraying new calipers it's a nightmere trying to prep used calipers.

New calipers eh?


With this in mind, have you looked into the possibility of your new calipers being ordered from the factory in the colour you want? You may have to wait a while though
