Default ebay sti top mount intercooler wont fit

I have bought a non genuine sti top mount inter cooler off ebay for my blob eye wrx.

The brackets do not line up the new inter cooler wont bolt down its too wide by about a inch and a half is there a trick to make it fit?

Also does any one find that you cant check your gearbox oil as you cant properly get the dipstick out?

have you got to remove the wrx bonnet scoop under tray for it to fit properly?

if any one has fitted a ebay one advise would be appreciated or ill send it back and get a genuine used one,

cheers.

it's unlikely that it will perform as well as the one you're replacing. Far best to source a used genuine one which come up from time to time or keep your original.

cheers trev, just bought a used oem sti one in very good condition and sending ebay crap back, lesson learned but i was expecting a far better fit though! needed the bigger one because im going stage 2 in a week tuning place told me i need the bigger one because the standard wrx just doesn't cut it with cooling temps.

what would you guys use to tidy up/straighten the little fins?

Around 320-350 bhp and roughly 300-320 lb ft with a vf35, full decat system, 550cc injectors, uprated fuel pump and 3 port boost solenoid.

also having the tgv's deleted and a sti top mount intercooler with advise from the tuner.

would like the torque quite low
as to not put as much strain on the gearbox/diff/clutch as possible.

i wont refer to it as stage 2 in the future as i do understand thats what focus st drivers say all the time

I just used a pic from a snap-on pic set.

I also have one of those ****e intercoolers sat in the shed. It was fitted to my old 54 WRX, It just looked crap so was swapped for an STi intercooler within days. I much prefer the look of OEM stuff.
