Default Jap import - less than 10yrs old?

Hi guys,

I haven't imported a car for some years now. Thinking of getting S15 but looked around for a model report but can't find any.

Has the law changed and is the ESVA or IVA still needed? If a car comes from Japan can the export certificate be used as conformity of standard (so model report is no longer needed) ?

Thanks for any help given!

There is a good guidance on .gov.uk websites on importing and registering cars.

Mine was over ten so exempt from vehicle type approval.
