Must be the going rate these days for them, I remember when they was mega expensive even though years have past since I last looked
I'd love to have that s204 mentioned if you really want it take someone down that knows what they are checking for if I had the cash I'd go down and give it a once over defo...
There's a s203 on at £17k you won't find one cleaner or such an example James at Ribble valley sports & prestige has it in they always have hand picked examples and I'd defo buy another car off them in the future

What does hand picked actually mean? I bought a Merc off a garage who 'hand picks' cars. He just saw it and bought it over he Internet. It had faults but he did rectify them. He took my Impreza a part ex and sold that on, so that's not exactly handpicked, more, lumbered with.
My S204 will be for sale very soon. In Crystal grey. Only 53k miles. I've decided to sell it as I want another competition car.
PM me for more details if you like.
Absolutely epic cars.
Cheers

Hand picked cars meaning each individual car is chosen by its mileage, condition and they won't sell any sh!te that comes along and all p/x cars are sold without warranty from them so you know what you are buying, always on hand if anything does go wrong and the warranty and quality, customer care is second to non I'd buy off James @ "RIBBLE VALLEY SPORTS & PRESTIGE" anyday
I'll have a s203/204 one day I hope
It'll definitely be a good bit more than the "examples" at Motorhub that's for sure.
At the price they have them listed at means they must of bought them very cheap from Japan, and that usually means only 1 thing, they are no good as the S series cars still command very good money in Japan
Decent S204's go for 2 million Yen upwards from all the ones I've seen go through. at todays exchange rate that means it'll cost you circa £22k landed before you service it, cambelt, alarm install etc etc

Serious interest? or just passing interest?

I just sold a MY03 Spec C and it was awesome to drive, so raw and sharp handling. I'd really like a Hawkeye Spec C RA at some point.
I'm not after that much, but feel free to come buy it for that

The car will be for sale soon. I've given it to a garage that specialise in rare and appreciating modern classics to market it and sell it for me.
They are currently detailing the underside to show the full extent of how nice the car is.
Regards
Logan
If anyone is interested, the car is now for sale here on my behalf:-

If anyone interested I'm happy to answer any questions, or speak to Richard at Appreciating classics, he's smitten with it and asked me if I really want to sell it, as he thinks I should keep it.
Cheers

The S204 is targeted at a totally different segment to the "typical" Scooby buyer - someone for whom £20k is probably on the cheaper end of the scale of what they'd expect to pay for a car.
In a world where decent Evo 9s are mostly £20k, 1Ms are 40k+, E46 CSLs 50k+ etc. this price doesn't feel outrageous for a limited-run car, particularly if like me you believe it's the ultimate expression of the Impreza, unmatched by anything that Subaru has produced since.

have to say prefer a classic Type R or RA, far more of a pure drivers dar.
I'm guessing it was purchased in Japan as cosmetically grade 4B , but engine fail ?
Or did it suffer this side ? Prob down to fuel if this side at a guess / nice looking car tho
I'd jump in it myself if I was in the market GLWS

Hi Joe, I've bought another Evo to get back into competition so don't have the space, or will ever use this really so it'd be great to sell it to someone who will get some use from it.

I think you have to drive one to appreciate its not just another Impreza. When I drove it for the first time I was blown away really, they are like a grown up Impreza, but still so responsive and the handling/noise etc is awesome.
Even Spec C Hawk's etc will cost you high teens now to import as the prices are strengthening for these types of cars.
It was all fine in Japan, the agent I use test drives the cars before they are shipped, and does a leakdown test, so any issues he would of told me before it was shipped.
Once landed in the UK it wouldn't start due to having a weird japanese alarm on it that we couldn't work out how to de-immobilse. After we removed that when started the engine sounded noisy. At this point I decided to buy a brand new JDM shortblock and replace everything for OEM new parts where needed so the car would be the best it could be.
How and why the failure occurred we'll never know. But the bottom line is the car is now in better shape than it would of been, As it has a brand new bottom end, clutch, oil pump, water pump etc etc etc.
My bad luck will be to who buys its gain, as realistically it'll not need a penny spent on it apart from routine servicing.
