Forester SG9 STI
Hi guys, after some thought we have decided on the above as our next family car. And will test drive one Asap (all the ones we like are far away from us) so I was wondering if any of you can offer any tips on what 2 look for?
Are there any importers that should be avoided, what mpg could we see on average, how much Is the insurance gonna be? I'm 40 in November so do you get boy racer comments when driving around lol
I know many of the questions above will vary from person 2 person but was just wanting 2 know how you find them.
Thanks for any help, Karl.

Thule - got some in the garage that I took off my SG9. Rock solid and very strong - the feet wrap around the roof rails and clamp on, so not scratching or bending of anything on your car. They have a curved profile on the bars, so not noisy when empty. They are also lockable
They came with my Forester and I don't need them, so if you don't mind slightly used ones, drop me a PM. Otherwise, I expect they still sell them new, just might need a bit of a web search.

They are stored in the garage at present (aka the twilight zone), so can't get some closeups until I pluck up the courage to go in there. This is them on the car when I bought the car about 3 months ago:
No idea on price....I was just going to chuck 'em on ebay for 99p and take whatever they landed up at.

Torque GT in Devon are very good if you are looking fro a fresh one from Japan.
I have dealt with them in the past and they wont mess you around.
I have actually just purchased a SF5 Forester S-Turbo for winter usage as I dont want to drive the Type R during the months where there is salt all over the road!

Now officially an fsti owner.picked it up this morning.160 mile drive home in it.wow, what a car.really nice to drive but still has enough pace(at the minute) to put a smile on my face.and the genome soundtrack(with de-cat) is lovely when the loud pedal is pushed.so far so good.now to get the front splitter ordered and search for some wind deflectors.
