Got a blob eye Wrx and just about to fit a de cat up pipe and down pipe to fully de cat the system before a remap. Do I need a 3 port solenoid or will my original one handle it?

A three port will make things much better.

Any good mapper will fit it for you prior to the mapping session. But don't go nuts on the way to the mapping session with the decatted exhaust system fitted.

Have a look at the ScoobyWorx SWRD 3 port. It's cheap as chips and the same as the old Prodrive unit that was so reliable. Highly recommend this unit.

Heard a 93-97 Wrx sti 3 port solenoid will fit mine...anyone know if this is right?

Don't go for an old 2nd hand used unit, buy something new and reliable. The SWRD unit even comes with a plug in wiring harness so it's quite literally plug and play (bar the vacuum plumbing which is different to 2 port).

Cheers all...guy called Bob who came and mapped my brothers Litchfield reckoned they we really good...don't know his surname though sorry.

I'll get one of the Scooby worx ones.

Anyone know if its ok to fit it then drive to the mapping place off boost? Its about 25 miles from the house.

Not really. I'd get it mounted and keep the old one p0lugged in for now. Best to re-plumb it once your with the mapper. Won't take long.

you could hook up the boost pipes to it and just leave the solenoid disconnected - that way no burnt fingers before mapping and it will be easier to drive on wastegate pressure with the decat. You'll get a code on the dash for it but you'll probably get one for having the cats out anyway plus all will be cleared once Mr Rawle puts the magic touch on it.
