I personally would stick to dash or pillar pod, might get quite distracting being up by your mirror.

No more distracting that having the giant sat nav module right in the middle of the windscreen blocking the driver's entire view to that side.

Running cables and vacuum hose (if needed) to them will be a little trickier than standard locations.

I saw that video quite some time ago and looked into it. But came away thinking that the normal locations are probably best.
