Ever lost your wheel nut locking key ?

Default Ever lost your wheel nut locking key ?

Just thought this info might be helpful if you ever find yourself in the situation that I am in. I could claim that my new import came without one, but the truth of the matter is that I have lost it somehow, and I can only think that I left it on the nut after tightening it. Frigging annoying and noone else to blame !
I found a site,Locking Wheel Nut Keys, took 2 photos of the nut and provided i.d yesterday, Sunday, and an oem key has already been posted out.
I have no connection with this firm, other than as a customer, and will report back when I try it. Cost was £ 48 with priority posting.

My subaru dealer sorted a new one for about 15 quid, but this was back in 2010 or thereabouts.

My ford one broke, and I ended up welding a bolt onto the locking nut and got it off that way.

Had I known about the above site, however, I would have tried that first instead of welding...

Removal tools are 20quod off ebay. Therefore fitting locking bits is a waste of time as anyone can get them off lol

Exactly Jglanza waste of time, Halfords sell the kits to remove them

A replacement is £12 from Subaru just give them your vin number and they will source you the correct key.

That's if you still have the oem locking kit of course.

It`s an import, so not really up to typing/speaking jap. No code for it at all.

Also, I understood removal tool would require new nuts, if so not so cheap or convienient.

Not all wheels fit the removal tools, unfortunately

My local specialist removed all 4 locking nuts for a few quid. New McGards cost way less than £48.

Mcgards are crap as they usually brawl up inside, you can get hammer in reverse thread removal nuts
