Default Japspeed 3 inch sports cat

Evening all

I have been looking at purchasing one of the above.

Its a 3 inch exit and I have a 2.5 inch centre pipe I need to mate it to but Im unsure whether it will work effectively.

Ed @ Japspeed is pretty certain it will be fine so long as I use the gasket they provide.

I just wondered if anybody had done this and if it was problem free before I part with hard earned cash.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

I bought a 3" Ninja sports cat, but bought a 3" cat back system aswell. Does the cat narrow to 2.5" bore?

I think I may be best to call Ed @ Japspeed next week and talk it through before purchase

I've also got a JapSpeed Sports Cat downpipe, waiting to fit and the rest of my system is also 2.5" from the mid-section back. I bought a GrimmSpeed 3 Inch Downpipe to OEM 2.5 Inch Subaru Catback Adapter to join the two sections as I've read numerous issues with exhausts blowing if the two sections are simply bolted together.

I managed to get a good deal on the adapter on eBay, but this company seem to be the best bet for a UK distributor. Ignore the "2015 WRX" bit - as far as I can tell this will work fine on all years!

EDIT - Thinking about it further, the fact that a company makes something specifically to resolve this problem implies to me that there must be a need for it! Mishimoto also make one, but they were on back-order at their UK distributor and they couldn't advise how long it would take to get one in stock.

Hopefully sometime in the next month. Got a whole load of goodies to fit - ported headers, harvey up-pipe, sports cat downpipe, new clutch and flywheel, plus a whole load of new gaskets! Normally I'd fit the bits myself, but I don't really fancy having a go at the clutch and flywheel, so I need to get it booked in to be done.

You can double up the gaskets put a 3" and a 2.5 together with some silicone around the outer edges it's a bit crude but I've Heard of it being done.
