Default K-Sport Brakes advice/supplier

Looking at purchasing a K-Sport big brake kit for another car I own. Not been on here in years and wanted to know what the latest was on them in terms of reliability etc.

Also any traders on here that are doing good deals on the them at the moment?

Cheers

Had an 8 pot 355 kit on my car when I bought it. Had to be stripped and cleaned every few months to stop them binding. Poor seals, if any, not suited to UK weather in my opinion. I believe the current ones are a better design however, I personally wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole. I switched to AP's which are fit and forget. Also I needed a replacement metal pipe which joins the two halves of the caliper when it got damaged by a stone. Four weeks delivery time!! No one holds stock! Buy cheap, buy twice!!

Got the Ksport 356mm setup on the front of mine.

They won't stop ******* screeching. Changed pads and discs and still doing the same. Cant find out why either.

They do stop good though.

Are they squealing just on braking or all the time? The only time mine didn't squeal was just after a strip and clean. Then gradually the squeal would come back, not under braking but just crawling along in traffic because the pads weren't releasing properly. Then they would get progressively worse until they would lock on. Embarrassing and ****e!

Speak to Godspeed about AP's. He does some good deals. Had 2 sets of AP's on my last two Scoob's and they are brilliant!

I think the K-sport are a cheaper option for big brakes.

I read somewhere before they can suffer from parts not being replaceable when they need fixing, maybe Godspeed could recommend something for you http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

I have K-sport 8 pots on the front of my blob, fitted by the previous owner and I have owned the car for 18 months and had no issues what so ever.

I Have Ksport 8 pots on the front of my track car coupled with very good Pagid pads. They have been great so far. No problems at all

squealing on braking, however if i listen carefully, i think they are slightly binding on occasion also.

ksport are AP nock off's without dustseals, hence why they have to be stripped down and cleaned.

stay clear

Speak to Ian @ Godspeed brakes. I debated k sports and ultimately ended up with APs, you won't regret it.
