Default 3D Printer - 3D Printed Subaru Parts

So I acquired a 3D printer a while ago, very interesting what you can do with these things.

I came across some Subaru specific bits on Thingiverse.

Just wondering of anyone has printed anything of use with their 3D printer?

See here ---> http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=subaru&sa=

I have looked into buying one (the cheap ones off ebay) but everyone I know who has bought a cheap one has had problems with the nozzle jamming up.
To be fair it would probably end up printing a few minecraft figures and then end up in the garage anyway.

To be honest, I have not used mine much at all, cost nearly £2k when I purchased it, can get the same one quite cheaper now. Its an Ultimaker 2.

I have had a few issues with the nozzle jamming, but that was my fault, once I took to time to learn a bit more about this specific machine, I've not had any problems.

Keep on looking for something of use to make. So far, the only useful thing I have made was a replacement latch for my misses's Hazard Warning Triangle cubby hole in her Audi A4!

The problem as it stands is you're limited to plastic and in the grand scheme of things there's not a lot on the car made from plastic. That being said I reckon you should be able to use it for making some pretty cool holders/mounts for things (think a Toucan or similar). Or if you want to do more styling bits then replacement trim panels with different designs in.

There are some cool keyring holders on that site, but mostly it seems to be limited to phone and say bag holders that are being made at the minute.

I think I will hang on until they can print me a 2.35 fully forged engine.

Looks awesome - we're getting one at work sometime next week, apparently, so will have to print something (and no doubt join the long queue of people printing stuff)
